Wiebke Eberhardt and Pieter Verhallen present research on using framing techniques and peer effects for engaging pension plan participants at SERVSIG 2016.
Pension communication researchers Wiebke Eberhardt and Pieter Verhallen presented research results on framing and peer effects at the SERVSIG 2016 conference. The joint research with Lisa Brüggen, Thomas Post, and Chantal Hoet demonstrates how powerful framing of newsletters can be in order to engage participants and motivate them to become active and look for pension information. In particular, we find that using the right frame to present information can double click rates on links in newsletters. Moreover, we find strong effects of using peer information for motivating pension plan particpants to save more.
